Cues

The cues I use

Mum’s definition of a “COMMUNICATION BUDDY’

“Finding ways to develop shared attention into activities. This allows  Angela to participate in her life, rather than just comply.”

The basics & practical examples

These are some short clips, descriptions and examples of my everyday interactions and some of the cues I use to communicate what I want, and who I am.

HAVING FUN & BEING ME

  • Push away – I don’t like it.
  • For choosing things

VOCALISATIONS

SMELL

  • For making choices of things.

BODY LANGUAGE

  • Lets go! (insert video)
  • Shy or embarrassed – hand over face
  • I don’t like this – extending arms

MAKING CHOICES

I mainly like to use touch & smell for making choices. Especially when choosing flowers as a customer at the local florist.
