My Home Support

Life@Home

Angela lives in the family home with her parents (and although Angela is non verbal sometimes I think I can rightly say “we” the parents live with her!!!!)

In other words she runs the household…

Angela’s daily care can be quite intricate, time consuming and would fill an encyclopedia if I itemised everything over a 24 hour period.

One would hope that our practices promote overall wellbeing by giving physical care, affection, positive regard, emotional security, set boundaries, encourage learning and exploration, skill development, address behaviour challenges, extend social behaviour.

To summarise promote all quality life domains (material, emotional, physical wellbeing, self determination, social inclusion, rights) plus all those daily, weekly, yearly “improvisations” concocted for one reason and another that are of value to her and certainly not found any disability manual.
