the skill of Stewart

Stewart is my new home visiting podiatrist from the Podiatry Squad  from Jannali.

Home visits are ideal for me as I hate “waiting” and I know it helps mum and dad as well not having to transport me to appointments.

Stewart tolerates my foot  “sensitivity”  and I just love when he sings!!!!!

Stewart’s skill and attitude towards someone with severe disability – where dignity and respect are practiced certainly adds quality to Angela’s well being.

Thanks you Stewart for your support.

the support of my GP

The best doctors do more than diagnose. They coordinate our complete health care, keep us staying healthy to limit any need for hospital visits, as well as addressing the huge amount of paper work required for many aspects of our lives… thus a positive ongoing relationship with a caring GP is PRICELESS!!

“MY GP IS……… DR COLIN METZ…… WHO I THINK SEES ME AS A ‘PERSON FIRST’ BEFORE MY DISABILITY, HE CERTAINLY TREATS ME WITH DIGNITY AND RESPECT – HAS A GENTLE APPROACH – IS A GOOD LISTENER (TO MUM TRYING TO COVER EVERY ASPECT OF MY WELLBEING) AND ALWAYS SHOWS AN EMPATHETIC QUALITY….. and of course a sense of humour.”

Thank you Dr Metz……..

the fine art of Dentistry

GHANA SPAILE – dentist at Prince of Wales Hospital has been Angela’s dentist for many years.

“I HATE HAVING MY TEETH CHECKED…….but I like seeing Ghana —she always talks to me and sometimes sings as well.

 Mum says……

“Ghana is a great dentist and has cared for Angela since she was a toddler. She treats Angela with dignity and respect.”

the skill of my Pedorthist

“Alfredo Roldan of Robment Pty Ltd.—is my new Pedorthist who makes my customised orthopaedic boots allowing me greater comfort, correction and function.”

Previously for many years Ron Hewson (now retired) of R & D Footwear– made me many a pair of hand made shoes for feet which certainly don’t come under the heading of normal.

The boots with orthotic correction, along with callipers allows me to be assisted while walking for small distances and maintaining some weight bearing – extremely important for me being mostly a wheelchair user.
